The first day of school at GHA was Aug 18, 2010. The first order of business was to go over some of the rules in our classroom. We got done a little early before we had to go over to the chapel. We had a short devotions from Miss Rebekah Miller on how when she was in school she always wanted somebody to look up to for help. Last year we started a program called “Prayer Partners.” This year the older prayer partner had to pop a balloon with the name of a younger prayer partner inside it to find out who was together for this year.
After that we went outside on the grass and played a whole-school game of prisoners base. It was a great game. After that we played 21 skidoo. The first people who were “It” were the seniors and their prayer partners, then the juniors. It was two great games; it was a really hot day so they gave us waffle ice-cream cones with sprinkles, Oreo cookie crumbs, and whip topping. It was really awesome. At 12:00 we ended our first day of school and I can’t wait for the rest of the year.
